BANG: The Grand Sport has a considerably more racy look and feel this year, and a parts spec you'd expect to see on more expensive bikes in this category. The Atomic 13 aluminum frame was modeled after Raleigh's carbon offerings, but is spec'd with FSA Omega Compact cranks to ease the pain when the road turns upward. BUCK: The trend of using super- low-end parts to keep prices down is out the door. Shimano Sora shifters and Vittoria Zaffiro Tires tie together this still-very-affordable entry-level package.—David L'Heureux
