Independent Fabrication Melon
Indy Fab created this luscious-looking Ti Deluxe hardtail for the wife of company president Gary Smith. The inspiration? A cut-open cantaloupe. It features a PF30 bottom bracket and Chris King 44mm InSet, but Smith was most excited about the finish, which fades from a perfectly ripe cantaloupe orange to yellow to rind green. Interesting trivia: When IF ran the colors in Pantone to match, the yellow came up “IF Yellow, 1997”—a color Indy Fab created.
